Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how FluentX ("we", "us") handles information when you use the FluentX iOS app and this website.

Information we collect

• Account information: your email address, username and optional name when you create an account.
• Learning data: your chosen course, lesson progress, XP, streaks, achievements and notification preferences.
• Leaderboard information: the profile information and learning statistics needed to show your display name and ranking to other learners.
• Subscription information: subscription status and transaction identifiers processed through Apple and RevenueCat. We do not receive your payment card details.
• Speech practice: speaking exercises use speech-recognition services available on your device. Recognised text is used while the exercise is open to evaluate your answer and is not saved to your FluentX profile.

How we use information

• To authenticate you, provide lessons and personalise your learning experience.
• To save progress, operate leaderboards, provide support, prevent abuse and determine Premium access.
• To evaluate speech answers and provide pronunciation feedback.

Speech and notifications

Speech recognition is used only when you choose a speaking exercise. Lesson reminders are scheduled locally after you opt in; you can disable them in FluentX or your device settings.

Service providers and sharing

We do not sell your personal information. Supabase provides authentication and database hosting. RevenueCat processes subscription status. Apple processes App Store payments and may provide speech-recognition services. These providers handle information under their own terms and privacy commitments. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect the service and its users.

Retention and deletion

We keep account and learning data while your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and associated learning data from Profile → Delete Account in FluentX, or by emailing admin@ssc-technology.co.uk. Apple or RevenueCat may retain transaction records where required for billing, fraud prevention, tax or legal obligations.

Children

FluentX is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Your choices and rights

You can avoid microphone access by typing speaking answers, disable notifications, change course preferences, restore purchases and delete your account. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access or correct your information. Contact us to make a request.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as FluentX changes. We will revise the effective date above when we do.
